The word Empath, how did it come to your mind and understanding. We had danced with this somewhat before here, but I just posted this on claircognizant tribe, on a on going tread and felt it appropriate to start a thread here on it as well. And it made me realize, I had never asked this before, even though it has been floating around in the back of my mind for some time.
How did it first get started, when did it first show up, I know how it came for me, it came to me 10 years ago or so from within, not from the physical world.
Some of us seem more connected then others on a unseen level. As I began to discover who I was and what my abilities were 20 years ago, I tried to put a name to it, that felt right for me. The term HSP did not last long, then Intuitive, that one seemed somewhat ok, Sensitive seemed better, but still did not feel completely right.
I did a deep search years ago and found what most fit for me, was Empath, With the definition, that it was someone who felt others emotions as their own and being sensitive to other energies as etc as well. I could find no definition for how I wanted to use it, to fit me, so I make up my own, and now look at it today. I guess Troy the Councilor, in Star Treks Next Generation had some feed into this process, and especially her brother or cousin who could not turn off his receiver like most of their race could.
Every couple years I would look to find anyone using Empath in that way, but never did. Somewhat over a year ago, I did another search and found the word Empath being used widely on the Internet as I had decided to use it years ago myself. It was nice it happened, but then I wondered how did it happen. It came to me, that Sensitive Empaths and etc most be connected on a subconscious level for everyone to start using the word a like, and come to a common acceptance and understanding.
I find that thought and spirit go out from us and we can pick it up as well, not only from God, but from each other it seem. Maybe at a spiritual energy level, we are connected more like the Internet then I had previously ever conceived before.
Does any one know how or who started using the Word Empath to mean, someone who feels others emotions as their own.
David

Re: The word Empath, how did it come to your mind and understanding
Mon, October 12, 2009 - 10:18 PMHi David, great question! I think it was 1994 when I got my first personal computer, and I was new like everyone else and while I was playing with AOL, the world Empathic Healer just popped in my head. I didn't even now what that meant. I was an astrologer at the time and did a lot of work, but the word Empath came from nowhere... So I typed in the search engine: EMPATH. One One! appeared. So I wrote the guy and said are you an Empath to, not really sure, but I knew it had to do with my emotions, sensitivities and intuition or deep feelings. He wrote me back, this kid and said, no I am not an Empath, its just the name of the character I created on a role playing game I am working on. Ever since that day I called myself an Empath and now 15 years later, that emotional body was my lifes work during this period of my own emotional body healing, the deeper i healed the more I entered the mystery...
nine years ago, I started having mystical experiences, and animals and avian coming on strong and i began to sink into the abyss, started astral traveling, spirits and masters started coming and my dreaming opened up into an amazing journey. This web on tribe is the result of that first insight and understanding of the Soul, the emotional body, it was 25/7 daily hard work for 13 years to go through every level of the lower emotional body, feelings and the higher emotional intelligences where all advanced dreamtime exists, visions, in-between the worlds and the lower three chakras which lead to my final initiations for seven years traveling the lower, middle and upper dimensional worlds as a shaman, and then off planet and beyond...
Now completed with the first and second level, i am at the third and final initiations of the condor which are just beginning and I would imagine like all of the previous work since my first awakening in 1987, it will take probably an 8 year cycle of experiencing in order to understand what will come in the future. In my healing work, I can now enter the black astral bodies neuro-network as a healer of the emotional body and great shifts occur with clients and apprentices much faster and safer than when I was a newbie healer back n 1997.
We have a white astral body that is connected closer to the outer layers of the mind and body, but the black astral body is of the emotional body, where all karma and gifts lay, dormant or otherwise developed, what i call the divine feminine within all of us. Last weekend I had a new level of where I am at, if you want to let me share that I will be glad to. -

Re: The word Empath, how did it come to your mind and understanding
Thu, October 22, 2009 - 4:18 PMThe earliest I can remember was Diana Troy on Star Trek II. (Late 80s/early 90s) Though I have been this way since I was a child. I believe the word come from empathy. In NLP (Nuero Linguistic Programming) we would be called kinesthetic, or "Feelers", rather than primarily visually or auditorally based.
