I work as a therapist and I am empathetic. I do this at work and with people in general, I seem to connect with there deep sadness. ( I also connect with there joy but that's not a problem per say) . The more I see myself as a healer It makes more sense that I see this sadness, the place that needs healing in them. It connects to the places in me that need healing . Sometimes I get overwhelmed with a person's sadness. And then I have to be ultra focused on the joy and already healed places to counterbalance it. But sometimes I just see the sadness. I see how much healing the human race needs and how much can I do?
I also wonder why a lot of people don't see it ( whether it's a person right in front of us or Palestinians or Darfurians or mothers or children) . There is a deep sadness to being human. I have healed enough of it in myself to help others but I want to do more.
( I also may be dealing with a new layer of sadness becoming visible to me in myself ) Does it end? Do we ever get to the root of it and feel only joy?
I want to connect deeply with people and yet the pain is sometimes more than I can safely take. And I feel such responsibility to see the beauty and joy , to keep that connection going too.
What can we do as healers, to feel and be connected and know that sadness is there and yet be ok with it? How can I help heal people most effectively?

Re: Connecting with people's sadness....
Tue, September 22, 2009 - 11:12 PMEsther Hicks, who channels Abraham, better known as the Law of Attraction Lady, has much to say about this. Let me recommend a DVD - "Let Loose!" - there is a segment on DVD 1 about an inner city teacher dealing with tough kids that would apply to your situation as well.
The idea is to see the persons in their highest light, at their happiest, making the right decisions, and focus your vibration there, instead of allowing their low vibration to snag you.

Wed, September 23, 2009 - 2:28 AMAs a highly sensitive empath, I find I cannot heal anyone, they haver to heal themselves, they need to in some cases have to have the Faith to fellow what I say, if I see how to help them. I find too, the best healing takes place when we meditate and pray and ask God to help.
