Sorry I haven't been around lately.

This tribe has really turned into a free-for-all. I've gotten some messages and it seems some-- are throwing chairs around. We can't have that.

I don't want to place myself as judge and jury or every conflict, so for those of you who weren't here in the begining, or don't remember my mediation policy here is. It's very simple: If anyone treats you badly, send me a personal message and that person will be removed. Make sure you include a link to the offending thread. So remember, be nice to everyone.

Here are the guidelines from way back when:

==============================
General Guidelines for Posting to Empaths Alike
==============================

1- Everyone arrived here based on a general or partial agreement with nine common traits that all empaths share. All posts regarding these traits, or any new traits that might be common to the group, are always welcome.

2- Our general statement of purpose is, "If this sounds like you... welcome. You're among friends. Here is a place where we can discuss the many challenges and rewards of our innate sensitivity."

3- While it is impossible to dictate what gets posted, keep in mind that everyone here is abnormally sensitive, for better or worse. So PLEASE try not to criticize anyone!! Feel free to post alternate viewpoints but DO NOT criticize the viewpoint of others. DO try to be tolerant. DO try to be supportive.

4- We are a tribe of Empaths. Try NOT to solicit advice for personal problems NOT related to our common traits or purpose here. MEANING: this is NOT a place for "Muggles" to solicit advice. If you are not an empath, or involved with an empath, as defined by the nine common traits, then you probably should not be posting here.

5- As empaths we seek to embrace our highest ideals. We ARE supportive and compassionate. We DO NOT call names, argue, or get into any "he said, she said" debates." If you are criticized, take the higher ground. Let it go.

6- My mediation policy is simple. If anyone treats you badly send me a personal message and that person will be removed. Just make sure you include a link to the offending thread. So remember, be nice to everyone!

Silence... Don't worry. Only two people have been removed. While I don't make it a habit of announcing who, you could probably already know who they are.

That's about it for me-- for now. I'm back to my usual group. You can always find my most recent posts at FXcoach.com. But that's all technical market analysis. I doubt you'd be interested.

I AM still very active spiritually, but even I have been put off by the hecklers. Sometimes this is a great tribe, but it has absolutely no organization. Too bad, because I'm sure a LOT of very gifted and sensitive people get put off, and never come back.

Also, the TRIBE.NET WEB APPLICATION IS JUST SO SLOW THESE DAYS...

I've got it on my ToDo list to move the domain EmpathsAlike.com to a newer web forum technology. Then we could have as many sub-groups and moderators as we wanted. Teaching groups, advice groups, specialty groups, Q&A groups, etc. etc. The beauty of using a more robust forum technology is that everything is LOT better and easier--: posting pictures and videos-- even do surveys.

I'll get to it, I'm sure. When I do, you know, I'll be asking for you help

Hmm... Hey-- while I'm at it-- let's test the waters. What sub-groups would you like to see? If you're interested in moderating one of the sub-groups let me know. Maybe a little encouragement would get me moving faster on this project.

Thanks for stepping in Paul . As much as I am a fan of folks speaking openly on their views , and try to respect every ones opinions , it got to a point that no matter how hard we tried to "empathise " with someones anger , it seemed to fan the flames rather than calm the waters. I imagine many are tentative about saying any more about this , as it was likely to unleash a torrent of unrelated , angry posts , that often had nothing to do with the original topic.

There is allot of great people here , and I can say that for my part , I have gained quite a bit from exchanging ideas with others here over the last few years , and look forward to many more years of learning from my friends here , as well as in the new domain once its up and running.

I appreciate you stepping in too Paul. I've been here since March '07, and this is the first time since then (I'm aware of) that you've had to. Soooo, we cant' be all that keen on chucking the furniture around in here. ;)

      Thanks.

Just one small criticism I have with these guidelines in using the *muggles* term.....
I believe were ALL empaths....some just havent tuned into it yet! Were no higher, and no lower than anyone else....just perhaps more tuned into a certain aspect of ourselves....
Anyways...other than that...respect and receive respect is the best policy :)
    Blessings

Thanks ALL for your openness, to what I'm trying to do.

And Shekinah, I appreciate your constructive point there. Well taken. It's important that our guidelines be inclusive, not exclusive. So, yes, the term muggles is out.

I'm going to set aside some time next week and do a overhaul of the Guidelines. Not so much anything different, but more concise and precise.

So anyone, who's who wants to put their two cents in, this is a good time.

Do these these guidelines speak to this tribes highest ideal? Is there anything I left out?

Here's my quick analysis of what need to be addressed:

1- is historic info-- not necessary in the guidelines.

2- sounds like a mission statement, and can be better worded to be proactive.

3- got a lot and maybe can be broken down into two or three.

4- is probably not workable, as I know many people are here, not to discuss their empathic nature, but to solicit advice from an empath. None the less maybe some direction would be helpful.

5- makes some good points and can also be broken in two.

6- is tried and proven to be effective, but it's almost never used.

Anyway, as you can see, I'm thinking about a major rewrite. Let me know what you think.

Sorry I didn't get to update the guidelines this week.

It's not like anybody is waiting on them. Eh?

I guess it's just something I feel I need to do.

Anyway... at this point, I'm not sure what's going on.

It seems like every time I post something, the tribe goes silent.

Odd. Eh? It must be my imagination.

Sometimes I perceive more than what appears.

Ugh.....I chuckled at the muggle thing. I thought it was a light-hearted play on things. Like you said some people haven't turned it on, hence the not-so-serious term *muggles*. No big deal.
