How many feel more pain, have redundant nerves, as a Empath or Sensitive

How many feel more pain, as a Empath or Sensitive. I was reminded of this, as I had to have some minor dental work done again. Pain killers shots don't seem to shut down the nerve. At times it takes 7 times the amount of pain killers to block a nerve in my jaw. I remember the same thing happened when they went in for a bone marrow biopsy.

It is really a pain, really when the dentist cannot shut off the pain, when he tries to work on my teeth.

The Dentist is wondering and me too, if there is not some kind of redundant nerve flow, more then one nerve flowing to the same area or areas.

I also have the extra 6 lumbar vertebrae in my back, and my neck cervical vertebra's are longer then usual.

So high IQ, hypersensitive, Empathic, and what ??? Anyone else have any of these conditions? Do it all tie into one package, or are they separated inherited from being a Sensitive/Empath?

  • I have the same issues- they always have to double-triple freeze me- super sensitive in the dental area.
    • Often they have given me 7 shots, and it still does not work, but then I explained that. I was curious about how much was inherited, which I guess mostly may apply, and how much was some gene kick back to from our past which most don't have today. Or is is some superior new advancement in evolution But then I wonder, what purpose does it serve, I cannot imagine ancestors in the past without modern dental, survive such dental pain.

But then I have to think too, many of my problems were caused by modern life and medicines?

For you and others who may respond, are you highly sensitive Empaths, what is you Ancestral heritage. I am mostly Irish German and American Indian, but do have English, and more so, Swiss Italian.

I was trying to see if there were any correlations to help make sense of it.

The last time, the other day, they ended up putting the right side of my face asleep, and I could not close my right eye lid, that was a bit weird and spooky, but did not feel too scared. It did also affect my some, the eyes ability to focus. But not being able to close my eye lid, except with my finger, was bit unnerving, but at the same time interesting.

The doctor told me, she had only seen one other person in her decades of dental practice, who was like this.

      • Jeez, sounds like you've had a rough time with dentist, lately, David. :(

I usually need a lot of shots too and this last time it took two dentist, a few weeks and lots of shots to finally get a minor broken tooth repaired - and after three months the nerve is almost desensitized. Also, I seem not to be able to handle acupuncture. My body does the same thing it did with the attempted filling - feels like someone gave me an electric shock and my body starts shaking.

Ancestors: I'm German, Choctaw (Native American), English, French and ?? don't know if anyone in my wider family has this sensitivity. The ones that are living don't and most of the German side dies off before they reach mid-30's so don't know about them. Although I suspect that side has higher sensitivity mostly because of their draw to drug/alcohol addiction, suicide and even Huntington Chorea. 'Course who knows what comes first - the chicken or the egg...or the thought.
        • In the book the power of NOW, it is suggested that some of us are trapped in our Pain Body? as part of our energy system. This can occur from long periods of pain and the neuro pathways. Like when I had spine pressing on the spinal cord. Or when my daughter broke her back and ankles with long recovery. She was advised (sensibly) by the physio and friends to go thru the pain and then to shut down the pathways and by [pass since her body was forming a pattern of pain.

Every thing is patterns. The Pain body as mentioned earlier - Ibelieve is not correct it is the "Emotional Body" for sure and we get stuck in Pain. I include myself here. Oh How we love to bemoan and say how much we suffer. But this too is a pattern., It is getting stuck.

I too have inherent problems with the joints being over flexible leading to strain injuries etc. But, we are the 'unhealed healers' not what we truly are, as empaths we have grown in a world anti feelings - like dirty words. Yet it is now prooved that half the brain is wired for the senses. The more intimate inner brain has many times the sensors as the intellect upper part.

It is up tp us to develope and heal and become authentically who we really are, and as we can open to these gifts we must learn control of them and close down too. Defense against over whelm.

A ancient cherokee methow explains that we sometimes are toooo open in the Solar Plexus and we can visualise the area (where the ribs meet GO inside imagine it at if it is large open etc close it down - it is not supposed to be big large and open. This being openb is amisconception!!! It should be imagined 5 cm across thats it Too open ofcourse you will take on the ills of the world. as budhists say "The world is too much with you.

Cherokee practice = Kneel as if in prayer and place hands tog too. Place right foot over the left.. image in 7stars above your head andaspiral of light descends from heaven enters top of head. another spiral enters thru base of spine rising anforms a double helix dancing within the spine. as your breath in raise yourself up and as you breath out lower to sit position INHALE RISE UP EXHALE SINK DOWN. suspended by the breath Do so for several minutes

This practise clarifies the energy of the emotionl body the mental body the etheric web and the physical body. Subtle but powerful changes occur.

It is thru the navel centre Solar Plexus where the ribs meet, that we pick up from others causing confusion and this practice makes the navel centre strong again. So we do not randomly pick negative emotional energy from others.

It will not prevent Empathy Nor does it block it simply prevents absorption and you may still sense but with more clarity since you are stronger in yourself.
This excercise clarifies the Emotihe energy of t
          • I used to have this problem at the dentist too. I also had a terrible time at the massage therapist. When I started having spasms in my back, this was a big problem. Massage therapists didn't like working with me for sure. I couldn't stand anything they did. Everything hurt especially the pressure points! It took a few years, but I love massage now. I don't freak out anymore when someone just barely touches my back.
            • Hey simple song, I had the the same problem with massage. I had to get them before chiropractic appointments (age 22yrs) but it took months before the massages stopped feeling painful (I think my body had gotten so used to being in pain and had tightened to protects its self). Now I love massages too :)

Crissie, I've learned that about the solar plexus too. If I put my intention there (goes there automatically when I'm empathing) I feel pain but when I bring the focus back up into the heart area the physical/emotional pain softens and I can sometimes see a solution or compassion rather the a problem or pain.
