Has anyone come across any articles or whatnot concerning scientific research into the abilities of an Empath? Brainscans, experiments, and so forth?
I would love to add some "concrete" evidence to my blog to help all the skeptics out there understand that this is a very real phenomena.
I mean, we have instruments to find ghost activity...so Im curious if there is anything like that out there for us?

We are the spiritual children of God, or innate talents are from God, but ours are still infant in stage, compared to his.
It is spiritual yet as well physical and part of out bodies. I know I was born like this, a Empath Sensitive, my son and daughter have it too.
But I have developed more use of it, as I had need out of desperation to survive, and after prayers. Many times after pray, it some new facet to my ability would be suddenly turned on. I just knew, had the faith and I was able to do it. It is like a muscle or mental talent, the more you use it, the more it can develop. We all have some of it, but some of us are more gifted from birth, just like any other talent we humans have.
I find that it works better if in conjunction with the Holy Ghost.
Our minds and spirits are energy transmitters and receivers, we are simply using what god gave us, most are not just aware and do not develop it. We are only limited by our physical minds and understanding, to our higher minds and spirit, there is no time and no distance, that is God and the Holy Ghost are everywhere.
I can sense what vitamins and herbs to buy at a distance from a catalog or online. I can sense what is wrong with many peoples health, any distance, even if I have never met them. Not completely sure how it works, but it does.

Very interesting.Thank you for that, David. I came across the Mirror Cell concept before, but previously had just skimmed over it, never really read thoroughly.
But while interesting...there's still something missing. There is something more, I believe, to our gifts than just Mirror Cells.
I agree 100% with you that these gifts come from God and that the Holy Ghost is involved every step of the way (Out of curiosity might I ask if you are a member of a specific religion?).
But God also works on principals and laws. For example, in Genesis we learn of the Creation process...but everything has an order. How did Christ turn water to wine? Did He just command and VOILA it was so? To a degree, yes. But my theory is that he made a command, and the molecules re-arranged themselves to make the wine. There was a Process. Everything God does has a Process, an order, a "Behind the Scenes", if you will.
So. I am OVERFLOWING with curiosity at the "Process" of how our Empathic abilities work. We know it works, we know how to make it work.
We know how to wind the watch and how to tell time, but what makes it TICK?!

Thanks for your reply, it was refreshing to find someone with a similar perspective. So often I find so many into the things we are, so wrapped into to pagan and etc things, so that I cannot fully communicate with them with any clearness.
I was born the way I am, but God helped to turn turn on what was latent within me. I am one of those who finds the old Indigo/Crystal types of the young generation today. They wonder how I can do what I do, but they have a hard time accepting that fact that God had shown me how, they want to look in some dark place, or take the words of someone similar, the blind leading the blind.
There is order as you say, if we have a gift, it is because we have earned it in some way or form, it is just not handed to us freely normally. Though we are all given things to test and try us, to see if we will use it to do good or evil or serve God or not. As we do what is right, more will be added to us, but we do not all have the same gifts, so we have need of each other, just like the body has need of hands and feet, no part is any more important then the other, all are important, with different talents and tasks.
I have found that my abilities have increased with a great need to survive, from a point of great humility and desperation. I find if we gain gifts and talents, and use them for good and to help others, then they are increased and others may be given as are needed. In the Bible, it says those who are thankful are blessed, so being thankful is part of it too, whether Christian or not, as God gives to all who love him, even if they don't realize who they are turning too. If you follow the laws, they work, no matter who you are, you are bless when you care about and love others as yourself..
Though I have noticed some seem to get such things temporarily,who are are evil, but they seem more a test for us then a hindrance.
When I was young, was only aware of the extreme pain I felt, later realized it was from others. I am like the Father or was it the grandfather on Fiddler on the Roof. I have always been spiritual and have always talked to God as a friend, at home, and in the fields, like Fiddler on the Roof.
Only when I was around 40, did I start to be aware of sensing near and far and putting it to use, which lead to my ability as what is known as a medical intuitive. I can learned to sense with a pendulem and later muscle testing then now don't need the muscle testing very much. I just sense.
But it seems to come in levels or etc, some it comes like the gift of discernment, as spoken of in the Scriptures.
I only wish I was in a position to work with others to expend my gifts more.

Actually, science already explains it with the normal human empathy, which reaches much further than most people assume. We regard the normal human empathy as "being able to tell if someone else seems sad/angry/happy/scared". But science does explain, that we are able to *feel* other peoples feelings in ourselves, when we see another person experiencing them. Like laughing ourselves, because someone we know is laughing, even though we do not know what he/she finds so amusing.
So, when you pick up on feelings from a person you can see or hear or feel (bodylanguage, tone of voice, facial expression, body heat and so on, anything that can give away any kind of expression - including video, photos or a telephone call) it is the normal human empathy that is doing the job. ...Scientifically speaking.
So, if you want to move beyond the normal human empathy and into something spiritual, you have to deprive yourself from your normal senses, and you have to control the reading - specific feeling, which also includes a very controlled person to read on...
But as far as I have read, the ability to read people this way empathically, is not included in the usual description of an empath. So it will probably be some time before empaths even begins to put up this definition - and before science will eventually begin to invest a lot of money into investigating it.
BUT the short answer is, that science explains the empath ability with "empathy", normal, human empathy.
